Three Ways to Experience Runway
Runway is being designed around three planned divisions — each still in development, not yet operating.
Runway Launchpad
School-Age Program
The planned structured school-age division, combining academic support, enrichment, recreation, practical skill-building, leadership development, and meaningful youth choice.
May include

Runway Flight Deck
Open Recreation
A planned open-recreation experience for eligible older school-age youth who are ready for greater choice and independence within a supervised environment. Participants ages 13–18 are generally directed to Runway Altitude.

"Open Recreation" doesn't mean unrestricted, unsupervised, drop-in without approval, or automatically free. Eligibility may vary by session, available capacity, activity, developmental fit, supervision requirements, registration status, and Runway's final operating policies.
Runway Altitude
Teen Program
Runway's planned teen-centered division, designed around leadership, life skills, career and college exploration, creative and technology projects, community service, and mentorship.

Participation at age 18 will be limited to youth still enrolled in high school or an equivalent secondary education program. Final schedule, transportation plan, and activities have not been set. Altitude is a planned division and is not currently operating.
Why do some ages overlap?
The overlap between Runway Launchpad and Runway Flight Deck is intentional. Young people ages 9–12 may benefit from different levels of structure, independence, and choice. Launchpad is designed as a more structured school-age program, while Flight Deck is designed to provide eligible older school-age youth with greater flexibility, recreation, clubs, and social opportunities. Participation will depend on the session, developmental fit, interests, available space, supervision requirements, and enrollment status.
Runway may introduce programs in phases. Initial enrollment, session availability, and age-group capacity will depend on the final facility, staffing, licensing, funding, and operating plan.

Before School
A planned early-day option under Runway Launchpad (ages 5–12), with hours and eligibility still being evaluated.
After School
Structured weekday programming planned as part of Runway Launchpad.
Summer
An expanded seasonal model planned as part of Runway Launchpad.
School Breaks & Closure Days
Coverage being considered for eligible school breaks, planned under Runway Launchpad.
Weekends or Special Events
Occasional recreation, workshops, and events planned through Runway Flight Deck.
Teen Evenings or Runway After Hours
A possible evening format being explored as part of Runway Altitude.
What Runway Programming May Include
These focus areas may show up across Runway Launchpad, Flight Deck, and Altitude rather than belonging to only one division — and remain possibilities we're designing toward, not a guaranteed activity list.
Academic Support
Possibilities include homework support and reading or learning activities. The exact format will depend on age groups and staffing.
STEM & Technology
Hands-on STEM projects and digital-creativity activities are among the possibilities being considered for this focus area.
Creative Enrichment
Art, music, and performance could all have a place here — the specific offerings will develop alongside staffing and facility planning.
Recreation & Wellness
Cooperative games and physical activity are possibilities intended to build movement and teamwork into every week.
Leadership & Life Skills
Communication, teamwork, goal-setting, and decision-making are possible building blocks, alongside potential youth leadership opportunities.
Inclusive Youth Development
Quiet spaces and adaptable participation options are among the approaches being considered so more young people can take part comfortably.
How a Runway Experience May Flow

Are these programs currently available?

What is the difference between Launchpad, Flight Deck, and Altitude?
Runway Launchpad is the planned structured school-age division. Runway Flight Deck is the planned open-recreation experience. Runway Altitude is the planned teen-centered division. Final eligibility, schedules, attendance options, and pricing are still being developed.
Will Runway offer before-school programming?
Before-school programming is included in the Runway Launchpad vision, but its launch timing, hours, transportation arrangements, food service, and eligibility have not been finalized.
What ages will Runway serve?
Runway's planned age structure includes Runway Launchpad for ages 5–12, Runway Flight Deck primarily for ages 9–12, and Runway Altitude for ages 13–18. Reducing cost as a barrier is part of Runway's mission. The specific financial-assistance structure is still being finalized.
Will transportation be offered?
Transportation has not been finalized. We'll announce our plans once they're confirmed.
Will meals or snacks be provided?
Food and snack service is still being finalized and will depend on facility and staffing plans.
How will Runway support youth with disabilities?
Inclusion is a founding value of Runway. We're still developing the specific supports and accommodations we'll be able to offer, which will depend on our final facility, staffing, and licensing.
When will the final program calendar be announced?
